The Last Great Album Of The Decade
Exhibition – The LAB, Foley Street, Dublin 1 – March to May 2019.
Musictown coincides with an exhibition at The LAB, entitled The Last Great Album of the Decade. Spring (March-May) 2019 a group exhibition takes place at The LAB, Dublin entitled The Last Great Album of The Decade. Featuring new work by four outstanding artists; Anne-Maree Barry, Declan Clarke, Alan Phelan and Clíodhna Timoney, this exhibition investigates intersections between visual art and musical culture. As well as the newly commissioned work by several artists, this project includes paraphernalia borrowed from the personal collection of Brian McMahon (Brand New Retro). This archival element compliments the new commissions from the four artists and provides insights into some of the ephemera that once made music such a defining cultural reference point in Dublin. The Last Great Album of the Decade is co-curated by Sheena Barrett (Curator, The LAB Gallery) and Pádraic E. Moore (independent curator).
